Today’s travel photo is of a long foot bridge on the hike in the Hooker Valley, New Zealand. It was cold and wet when I did this popular hike in Mount Cook/Aoraki National Park, but that couldn’t take away the dramatic and spectacular scenery of the valley. Not far from this bridge the valley turns towards the Hooker Glacier where you can get a great view of Mount Cook, however the clouds were covering the top of the mountain on this particular day. At this point the rain and wind became so bad that I had to turn around and head back. It is a harsh but beautiful part of New Zealand.
