After over six years of living in Brisbane, Australia, I would have to say that my favourite place to go for a nice quiet night out is South Bank. Brisbane’s South Bank is the cultural centre of the city with the Queensland Museum, Art Gallery, Library and Performing Arts Centre all located here, but this part of Brisbane also has a lot to offer as far as night life. There are lots of nice restaurants and bars to try out, and the South Bank Parklands make a beautiful place to take a walk. For a nice night out, Veronika and I often come here for a meal and a walk along the river front at night as you get the best views of the Brisbane CBD from here.
On our last visit here I took my camera along to see if I could capture what I love about South Bank. I hope you enjoy this photo essay of South Bank at night.
Great shots! I love how different light is featured in each shot and how every picture different from the other. Each has a unique feel and yet they go so well together. Great work.

Thanks very much Deb, that’s what I was trying for in these photos. Glad you liked them 🙂
Looks like Brisbane’s South Bank is lite up nicely at night. I love the walkway along the Parklands. The trees, lights and overhang are just sculpted together perfectly.
Really great night shots. Well done! Definitely a place I’d love to hang out too.
Nice shots Dean. I liked Brisbane – nice city. But I’d have to say there’s not a lot to do there! Can’t imaging calling it home for too long.
I love your shots, the colors look so alive. I wonder what camera you are using. Brisbane is definitely one of the finest cities in the world, glad you had a great time!
Thanks Rachel. Glad you liked the shots! I used a Canon 60d
