Today’s travel photo is of a lady selling grilled meat skewers at the market in Kampong Cham, Cambodia. This lady had a whole array of meats on a stick ready to be devoured, from big chunks of chicken to tiny fish from the nearby Mekong River. Kampong Cham is pretty quiet when it comes to tourism, and I found that we were the only tourists wandering around the central market. I really enjoyed the city for that exact reason. Most of the time it was just us with the locals.
Love this photo.. was it ok with her that you took her photo? 😉 Anyways, I couldn’t agree more about being in a place not jam-packed with fellow tourists. And it’s even better if you could impersonate and dress up like the locals,. like you belong.
Hi Rachel. This is a candid shot that I took from a distance, but I found that the Khmer people were usually happy for me to take their picture if I asked. A few even posed for a photo before I could ask 😉
I think this is a candid shot you took from your visit on the local market in Vietnam.
Nope. Definitely from Kampong Cham in Cambodia 🙂
Nice capture. I always love your travel photos.
