Today’s travel photo is of Loch Ard Gorge – part of the spectacular coastline of the Great Ocean Road in Australia. Loch Ard Gorge is named after the ship, Loch Ard, which ran aground near here in the 1870’s, leaving only two survivors that washed up on the beach in this rugged gorge. This is just one of so many spectacular sites along the Great Ocean Road.
Oh man, I wish I could snap my fingers and be right in that cove for the afternoon! Whether or not this was the case, I imagine the air and water warm, with just a slight breeze of wind 😀 I’m ready to go for a dip!
Hi Dana. It was exactly as you have imagined it. I was there around March/April I believe, and it was very pleasant.
