Is it weird that I actually like visiting cemeteries when I travel? Anyway, in Uralla, Australia, I did just that. We went to the old cemetery in town to see the grave of Captain Thunderbolt, an infamous bush ranger from the area, and what we found were a lot of very old gravestones from the 1800’s. Cemeteries might not be for everyone, but I find them quite interesting.
Not weird at all. . . or maybe we are just both weird. I like old cemetaries too.
You found a nice little one.

Hi Cindy. Glad to hear that it’s not just me 🙂 What’s your favourite cemetery that you have visited?
Favorites! It’s so hard to choose favorites, but here are a few: any cemetary in rural Ireland and Ninilchik in Alaska http://thetravelgal.blogspot.com/2008/08/russian-orthodox-america-ninilchik.html and Palapala Ho’omau on Maui http://thetravelgal.blogspot.com/2008/01/lindberg-grave.html and the “Sound of Music cemetary in Salzburg (no photos posted yet) and Pere LaChaise in Paris http://thetravelgal.blogspot.com/2013/02/crosses-in-pere-lachaise-paris.html?q=cemetery and the little tiny nearly forgotten township cemetery near my parents home in rural Minnesota where cows graze under the oak trees along the rusted iron fences (I need to get out there and take some pictures!) I’ll be looking for more great shots from you!

You’ve got a good collection, Cindy. I would love to visit some of the really old ones in Europe. It would be quite a sight!
