Today’s travel photo is a panorama of Lake Jindabyne in New South Wales, Australia. Jindabyne is a small town situated at the base of the Snowy Mountains right on this lovely lake. The lake is man made, formed by the damming of the Snowy River to produce hydro electricity. The town itself was actually originally located where the lake is now, but was completely relocated to higher ground before the construction of the dam. It certainly has a picturesque location.

Great photo, I used to live in Canberra so ventured up to Jindabyne with some regularity. I hadn’t realised the lake was artificially created.
Hey Angus. I liked Canberra when I stopped in for a couple of days. It’s certainly in a great location for visiting the snowy mountains area.
Yeah, we even used to do snow trips at school. Mind you, it was an early morning for a teenage r!
