Today’s travel photo is of the wide pathway leading up to Capitoline Hill in Rome, Italy. Capitoline Hill is one of the Seven Hills of Rome and has a long and interesting history, dating back to ancient Rome. What now stands on the hill are some beautiful Medieval and Renaissance palaces that now combine as the Capitoline Museum. I took this photo on our very first morning in Rome. We were very jet lagged and had woken up early, so we decided to go exploring, which is why there are no other people in this photo. We explored the area while we waited for the museum to open, beginning a long day of sightseeing. I’ll never forget that day. I don’t think anyone could forget their first day in Rome.
