Today’s travel photo is of the main prayer hall inside Masjid Negara Mosque (National Mosque of Malaysia) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Masjid Negara was built in 1965 as the official mosque of Malaysia and can hold up to 15,000 people at a time. Outside of the main prayer times, tourists are allowed to visit the mosque as long as they are dressed appropriately (robes are provided if you don’t have the appropriate clothing). There are lots of sights to check out, but for me the most impressive part of the mosque is its main prayer hall, situated right in the centre under the huge star shaped roof. It must be an amazing sight when it is full of people.
