Today’s travel photo is of some rice fields on the rural island of Koh Trong, Cambodia. Koh Trong is a long, thin island in the middle of the Mekong River in Kratie, located in the North-eastern part of Cambodia. We spent the day cycling around the island and it was a very peaceful experience. It gave us a good taste of what rural Cambodia is really like. It was rice planting season when we were there, so some of the fields were freshly plowed and ready for planting, while others were already planted with bright green seedlings.
I remember my childhood days on my grandparents farm house when I am looking at this photo. They have lots of trees and also plow the land to plant vegetables.
I’m glad this photo brought back some childhood memories for you, Kristy.
