Today’s travel photo is of a roadside restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand. These little food stalls and eateries may not look very appealing to you, but I’ve found through my travels over the years that it is these sort of places where you will find the best local food. The food in these little roadside places is generally catered towards locals who stop for a cheap meal, so they are great places to try out real local food while meeting locals at the same time. Some of the best meals I’ve ever eaten in Asia have been at little roadside restaurants just like this one.
The price of the food there is very cheap compared to eating on a fine dining restaurants plus you have a chance to talk to local people there too.
Thanks what I like about these places Kristy. You get good food for cheap prices and you get to hang with the locals.
