Today’s travel photo is of my shadow on the snow at the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. At this point, I actually wasn’t quite at the summit just yet, but I was almost there at over 5800 metres above sea level. Each step was difficult. The air is so thin that I had to stop to catch my breathe quite often, but that wasn’t exactly a bad thing. I always had views like this to look at it. My rest stops really gave me time to stop and appreciate the beauty of this unique place, and to contemplate what I had achieved by successfully making this tough climb.
